Luke has trouble grasping "days".
Two more days until Dad has to work. Four more days until your birthday.
"Sleeps", he gets. So now, my little monkey is sleeping away his last "sleep" until he turns four.
He is quite excited about it and can hardly contain himself. I think he understands too, four is not baby-ish anymore. Four is a big boy.
He asked tonight if the tooth fairy would come and make him four. The tooth fairy is the only imaginary person who visits our house. No bunnies or guys in red suits. I explained that God would turn him four, and I was very thankful he would be four.
And I have to say - I am, honestly thankful that God is turning him four. I can't help but think of an old classmate who lost her son last year in a pool accident. Kyle will never be 5. Or another classmate who lost her life & her sons to domestic violence. Reese will never be 6.
So, as much as I tease them about not letting them get bigger and older, I am incredibly thankful that they are. And I know that Luke is not mine, he is in my home for me to raise him to love Jesus. And that makes it a bit easier to see him grow up to be a good little man.
My little man who almost always remembers his manners. Who gets a bit sad when he thinks he is too little to do something. Who can't run to my lap fast enough when I sit down at the end of the day.
My little Luke. Mom loves you.
Sweet post! Happy Brithday Luke!
